The key components of the Under Vehicle Inspection System VH Scan are:
Depending on the system version, it is available with a stainless-steel construction (permanent system) or with ramps (mobile system).
Through a small aperture in the scanning unit, the camera captures a comprehensive image of the entire underside of a vehicle in high-resolution color.
To ensure accurate scaling, varying undercarriage heights (car/truck) and vehicle lengths are taken into consideration.
Vehicle details are stored in the database along with their license plate numbers, which can be input manually or through an optional ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) System.
The VH Scan software furnishes guards with all vehicle data collected on the control screen. Additional information can be manually inputted. Zoom functionality facilitates the identification of details down to a size of 5 mm (0.2″). This streamlines the rapid and effective detection and analysis of suspicious objects. All collected or manually inputted data can be stored in a database under the vehicle’s license plate number. In instances of recurring vehicles, the software allows for comparison of the current underside image with a previously archived one of the same vehicle, enabling the swift identification of any alterations within seconds.
The VH Scan system features an Automatic Foreign Object Detection Algorithm designed to assist in the identification of explosives, weapons, contraband, and other prohibited items. By comparing the current scan with a previous one, any discrepancies detected in the image are promptly highlighted to the operator in red.
